Welcome to Katikati Rugby and Sports Club! Located in the heart of the beautiful Katikati region, our club has been a proud cornerstone of local sport and community spirit for many years. We offer a vibrant, inclusive environment where players of all ages and skill levels can come together to enjoy rugby and a range of other sports, build lasting friendships, and develop both on and off the field.
Our Teams and Programs
We are proud to field teams across a variety of age groups and levels, from junior teams to our senior men's rugby squads and we hope to field woman in the near future as well. Our coaches are passionate and experienced, and our players are motivated to learn, grow, and compete to the best of their ability.

Katikati Rugby and Sports Club Facts
Established in 1880
Founded in the same year, Katikati Rugby Club is a proud founding member of both the Bay of Plenty and Thames Valley Rugby Unions.
Unique Club Colours
Katikati is the only club that still proudly wears the colours of both the Bay of Plenty and Thames Valley rugby unions on its rugby shirts.
All Black Heritage
The first All Black captain, Dave Gallaher, played rugby in Katikati as a child, adding to the club’s rich history.
Record-Breaking Player
Past Katikati Rugby Club player Graeme Moore holds the title of the highest try-scoring player in Bay of Plenty rugby union history.
Historic First Game
The Katikati Senior Men’s second game, played on July 31, 1880, against Tauranga Rugby Club at Tauranga Domain, was the first interclub game recorded in the Bay of Plenty.
